"Who you don't want to be, huh?" Food for thought as well as food for the stomach. There was something about that statement that particularly stuck with Arba, whether he wanted it to or not, there was a logic in the statement that he couldn't deny. Accepting the plate graciously as it was offered, the Hybrid took in the bouquet of spices, allowing the stirring scents to soothe his soul for the moment. Of all the things in this universe to doubt, that the food would be good was certainly not one of them.
Taking a small bite at first of the grains that accompanied the meat, the hybrid thoughtfully chewed the tiny morsels, allowing the sauce that had been added to them to invade his palate and mingle with his tastebuds... Spicy, but not overwhelming, it was certainly on the robust side and left his mouth watering for more. The next bite he took, Arba made sure to get some of the meat, knowing that the savory flavor would mix well with the spice. As he bit into the tender cooked meat, Arba's eyes widened upon the realization that it wasn't just spicy and savory, but the wine had added hints of sweetness and tanginess that completely destroyed any notion of "good food" that the hybrid had so far. On a scale of one to ten, this was over nine-thousand! Arba would never again call food good unless it compared with this simple meal, and that was going to be a long shot.
Setting his fork on his plate, the Hybrid lowered it away from his mouth, having swallowed the bite that he'd been chewing for some time... He wanted to accurately capture his impression of the food, but to come up with a response that good was perplexingly hard. Arba had never really had the chance to truly enjoy things since he'd signed on with the GFA... Truth be told, even before that he never really had the chance. As the son of a slave and a slave himself, he was fated to gruel and scraps, and though his mother had often sacrificed her portion to him, it was never really pleasant to eat. This was... This was something you would eat just to enjoy eating, it was even more a luxury than the frozen yogurt and the wine he'd had today. Simply amazing. Once he'd rid himself of the frustrated look that had plagued him while searching for words, Arba stated with great pleasure: "This is good... Really good, Quizu. Maybe your domain is cooking and not fighting... Not to say you aren't a good fighter, but this is truly amazing food. I've never had something so... pleasantly flavorful? Not in my entire life."
