Space almost sixteen years ago
In the deep cosmos of space a small around vessel big enough to only carry one person was on a collision course to a random location. Where the vessel came from was unknown, but one thing was certain. It's place of origin will return, but not in a peaceful way. The vessel continued to fly at great speed across the void of space as it was about to land on a planet that it wasn't intended to go to.
At the same time somewhere in japan
A young blonde woman was currently sitting by a riverside in a temple while hugging her legs as tears were flowing down from her eyes. It was long before a old monk walked beside her. He sat down next her and put a hand on her shoulder as she hugged him. This woman was a student of the monk who tried to have a child of her own, but due to a miscarriage the baby died. She found this out not very long ago so the tears were fresh. It felt as if the world was spitting on her. It just wasn't fair was what she though, but clearly destiny had other plans for her.
The same vessel that was in space moments ago soon came in for a crash landing not that far from the temple. A explosion ranged out as the vessel landed in a clearing near the temple and got the attention of the two. After recovering from the shock of the experience the two took off too the site of the vessel's landing. When they got there they saw that the vessel was a small pod that was barely big enough for a full grown person. It would soon open by itself as it would show a small baby with a tail and long hair.
The woman would be very shocked as many questions ran through out her head. Where did this vessel come from? Who sent it? Why was there only a child in it. But the monk was more curious then shocked. The old man would walk down to the small child and when he tried to get it out of the pod it would bit down on his hand as a small amount of blood leaked out of his palm.
The woman eyes widen in shock as she came to his side.
"Master what are you doing."
"Do you expect me to leave the child to die?"
She was thrown back in shock as she though about it. He made a good point, but she was still hesitant about the whole thing.
"Well no of course, but we don't know anything about it and it's definitely not human. It could be dangerous for all we know!"
The old man was unfazed by her calm as he got the baby out of the pod with his hands as it struggled a little as the child was unsure to trust the man or not. The old man sense this and brought the baby so they would look into each other's eyes. Once it same them it calmed down seeing that his eyes were telling him that he was a good man. Soon it when from hostile to innocent as it giggled a little.
"See? Nothing to worry about here."
The old man would hand the baby to the woman which shocked her even more.
"Why me?!"
"Because this is the answer to your prayers Azumi."
The woman named Azumi bit down on her lip at the moment that he said that. Was it true or was this just pure luck? Regardless she was now being given the responsibility of a child from god knows where. Her hands wrapped around the child as he looked into her eyes and giggled more. The old man picked up the pod as he walked back to the temple. Azumi just stood there looking to the night sky while wondering how the child got here in the first place and hoped to learn soon.
A little later
Azumi had finished cleaning herself up in a bath as she changed into her sleeping attire and left the bath for her room. Said room had only a futon, a desk, and a crib for the baby that was recently found. Said baby was know sleeping peacefully in it as she came over to it and ran a finger through it's hair.
"This is weird. I was crying over losing my unborn child not two hours ago and now I'm given response ability over one that came out of nowhere."
Tears soon rolled down her face as she put a finger in the baby's small hand.
"Well...I guess I'm your new mom."
