In order to play, you must generate a character. The basic things required for creation are as follows:
Name: (Your characters name. You must change your display name to this.)
Race:(Saiyan, Terran, Namekian, Icerian, Kaio, Demon, Android or Custom Alien)
Home world: (name and status)
Faction: (Force you plan on playing as a member of.)
Quirks: (Select two quirks)
Background: What events brought your character to this point in history?
Personality: What is your character like?
Interests: What does your character enjoy?
Motive: What drives your character?
Stats: (Strength, Agility, Vitality, Energy)
Techniques: What abilities does your character know?
Races: Saiyan - A warrior race, easily recognized by their monkey tails.
Terran - Human-like races that live on various terran worlds throughout the universe.
Namekian - A noble and peaceful race from the planet Namek. A few of them are known to be strong warriors.
Icerian - A powerful and feared race of people that are known for their many transformations and armor like skin.
Kaio - A godling race that oversees the peace and balance of the universe.
Demon - Mighty and destructive race born of hatred. Most seek destruction and chaos.
Android - Man made creatures with various purposes.
Custom Alien - Design your own alien race and home world.
(note that I'll soon add special qualities or abilities to these races, after making a poll about it)
Other important things to think about: Is your character a fighter? Many characters in the DBZ Universe are not fighters. These types might be merchants, or common folk just trying to get by. Noncombatants begin play at drastically lower PL than combatants, but gain a decent amount of Zeni to purchase their holdings and lifestyle. Essentially, character starts play with 10,000 zeni and can purchase starting PL at a rate of 1 per 50 Zeni. Characters must purchase at least 1 PL.
This means a fighter could start play at 200 PL and dead broke.
Upon deciding your characters starting PL and Zeni, you purchase your begining stats, techniques and items. You 'spend' PL for stats and techniques. Zeni is used to purchase items and lifestyles.
One stat increase costs 10 PL. (Stats start at one for free)
Strength: How hard a character hits in close range combat
Agility: How nimble a character is. Used for attack and defense.
Vitality: How much damage a character can take. HP is 10 times Vitality.
Energy: How much Ki a character has and how hard his energy attacks hit. Ki is 10 times Energy.
Various techniques have their own costs. Some require other techniques before you can purchase them.

Martial Arts: Characters with this ability are trained in a fighting style, or have raw talent for combat. 10 pts per rank. Each rank allows 1 agility to be spent to attack per action per post.
Dodge: This ability lets a character skillfully avoid an attack. 10 pts per rank. Each rank allows 1 agility to be spent to dodge per action per post.
Guard: This ability lets a character skillfully block an attack each block decreases damage taken by half (round down). 10 pts per rank. Each rank allows a character to spent 1 point of agility per action per post.
Ki Channel: A characters ability to control the flow of their ki. This sets the maximum ki that can be expended per post. 10 pts per rank.
Ki attack: The ability to form ki into destructive force and turn it into a long range attack. 5 pts per rank. Each rank is an amount of ki that can be spent to increase damage, and the amount of agility that can be spent per action per post.
Ki strike: The ability to form ki into destructive force and use it to enhance close range attacks. 5 pts rank. Each rank is an amount of ki that can be spent to increase damage.
Flight: The ability to defy gravity and fly. 20 pts
Sense: The ability to sense PLs and specific energy signals. 30 pts
Counter: A character with this ability has mastered basic Martial Arts and can counterattack after successfully guarding or using Afterimage. The skill level of the attack is equal to the skill value of the successful defense. 30 pts Requires Martial Arts
