The combatants' billet was a large and heavily constructed facility beneath the arena, a place where those who were participating in the event above could prepare and train for their upcoming matches, and to seek medical treatment when the need arose. Besides a small resting room and a rudimentary medical bay, there were also a series of locker rooms and showers for the varying sexes, as well as a training room in which a small environment-control device could simulate the atmospheric pressures and specific gravity of other worlds. The sounds of heavy training could be heard from within, a few combatants who had participated in their matches and yet to participate were all pairing off to feel out their competition as well as to benefit from a bit of mutual training.
For now, there was only one person who did not yet have a training partner, a blue-gray skinned male with brilliant orange hair blemished by a streak of white running from over his left brow to the back of his skull where it was swept to. With his cloak held shut beneath his shoulders the solitary man seemed to be observing the crowd for a suitable partner, black eyes drifting from form to form, judging physical capabilities and fighting stances by appearances. Not long into his search another combatant entered the training room, a youthful and tubby looking fighter with skin of rouge and a general naiveté that stood out even more than a beautiful woman would amidst this sea of ruggedness and testosterone. This poor boy, did he know what he'd signed up for? If he went out there without any proper training he'd get eaten alive by the Saibamen, no doubt about it. Slipping a hand free from his cloak and slipping a scouter onto his face, Arba scanned the rotund younger fellow who had just entered for safety's sake and quickly found his initial assessment to be quite accurate: That was one low power level.
"Hey kid," the blue man called out towards Quizu as he pushed himself off of the wall and made for the red skinned boy, "C'mere, let me talk to you a minute." Meddling in the affairs of others generally was well outside of Arba's modus operandi, but it wasn't that long ago that someone else had interfered with his usual solo methods and for some reason it left the blue man longing a certain level of fraternity... He could afford to offer a bit of warning and perhaps some training to the younger kid, at least this way the guilt would hit him less when the little whelp inevitably died from saibasplosion.
/Aw, he used Self-Destruct, Vegeta.... I hate it when they do that./

Quizu himself was trying to practice a bit in a corner after his rather embarrassing fall. Costing him quite a bit of respect already, he had to really make up for it in these fights. Of course he understood that these Saiyans were rather powerful if not some of the stronger fighters. Everyone and their mother knows that while Freiza finds them disgusting, they are known for their fighting prowess and fighting on their homeworld. That's like asking to fight for a animals territory. He didn't really find them that bad, but they did have a stigma of aggression about them that seemed to vibrate off of them. It was at the very minimum intimidating.
Amongst his small warm up of practicing his guards, he heard a voice call to him,"Hey Kid." He looked around for a moment before discovering a rather tall man standing up and looking at him. He had a similar apperance to a few races here, the pale blue skin could easily be misconstrued for someone of a Brenchian or even Zarbonian. But he didn't have the same air of superiority and perfection that his fellow Zarbonians held, nor did he have that pumped energy of a Brenchian. It was a strange, almost otherworldly feel to this guy. Like whatever he was, he wasn't a race that you'd typically see. He would shake it off about the time the second sentence was spoke,"C'mere, let me talk to you a minute."
Giving a small nod he'd make his way over to the male and politely state,"Y-yes sir, can I help you?" Great, now he was stuttering like a child who was about to be scolded. But this man had a serious sense of command around him, so when he was asked to speak to him. He couldn't help but respond at his request. He was half expecting any moment to be asked a number of things,'What's a fatso like you doing in this, You look pretty weak to be a fighter, Or the ever so classic, I think your mom has supper ready for you." So on and so forth. Well, who honestly knows what this guy was going to say. He certainly didn't seem like the type to try and bully or tease a person for no other reason then entertainment.

The blue-skinned stranger certainly paid close attention to the chubby rouge boy as he crossed the gap between them upon request, arms folded tight beneath his cloak. The fabric of the robe was parted ever so slightly due to the bulk of unintentionally flexed muscles and the effect of the intense gravity upon the durable material, revealing a flash of similarly blue flesh beneath the cloak... Was this man nude beneath his cape? A slow smirk creeps its way across the beckoning offworlder's lips, his gaze sweeping once more over the boy from behind a scouter in a final appraisal. "You're tense, relax kid, I'm nobody important," Well that clears that up, "My name's Arba, I'm just a Grunt in Frieza's organization. I just wanted to know what it is you signed up in this tournament for... You're clearly not accustomed to the rigors of intense physical exercise, judging by your build and power level. Maybe you're not totally inept, but you're no Prince Zarbon."
Lowering his arms from where they were crossed over his chest to stanced akimbo with hands upon his hips, the stranger's cloak parted further to reveal that he was not in-fact nude, but instead wore a very strange wardrobe of formfitting shorts much like the material of the battlesuits worn by Saiyans and Frieza's men, some kind of harness with a reflective surface in the center of his chest, and a pair of boots reminiscent of the GFA's uniform boots. Quite the oddly dressed guy, but perhaps that was his shtick, catch his foes off guard by audacious battlewear... Atleast it wasn't a mankini.

A mild nervousness seemed to hold onto him as he continued to watch him. He was indeed very tense, it didn't help for a split moment he believed the male in front of him to be naked underneath. He was actually expecting any moment for this man to say he had candy and wished to invite him into his space van. But as the man seemed to explain for him to relax and explain his position in Frieza's army. A impressive position to say the least, he would consider this as he began to mention his own power.
Of course, with that attire underneath. He was trying to restrain himself, though to be totally fair. This was actually quite common in the army, it was like Frieza had a desire to make everyone look as flambouant as possible so they make their enemy believe they were weak. It was a brilliant idea, but he couldn't help but stare for a moment or two before shaking it off. He heard him continue mention that while he was indeed not inept. His power was greatly under Prince Zarbons,"c-come on, that's a unfair comparison!...but yea. I know what ya mean, I do this martial arts stuff for the exercise. But I was hoping if I do good in this competition. Maybe i'll earn a bit more respect on my home planet. Zarbonians are a bit unkind to their fellow Zarbonians who aren't completely beautiful in their natural form." He gave another sigh before shaking his head and saying,"Oh I almost forgot, my name is Quizu. What's yours?"

"Natural form, hmmm," Arba mused aloud, alluding that he perhaps was not aware that there even was an alternative form for the Zarbonians... Poor Quizu, already giving away his secrets. Smiling almost derisively at the question regarding his identity, the Grunt chuckled and replied in an echo of his previous introduction: "My name is Arba, Third Class Grunt. I'm fairly certain I already said that though. And why do you believe that the comparison is unfair? The only Zarbonian I've ever heard of in the GFA is your Prince, and thus he is my only point of reference. Not to say that I assumed your people were a bunch of proud warriors like the Saiyans, but he's the top brass next to Frieza himself, it lends to the theory that your people are tough."
Extending his arm out of his cloak, Arba indicates to an empty corner of the room with a jerk of his thumb, the location devoid of any candy-laden space vans for theoretical abductions, "That aside, I didn't come here to wax philosophical on the nature of your people and their innate power, I came to offer you a chance to test your mettle against one of the challengers who has already participated in the ring. If you wish to prove yourself to your people, you should go about proving yourself to your own self first." Slipping his arm back into his cloak and lowering both of them so that the cloak hung freely and closed around him now, the blue figure turned about to face the direction he'd pointed in, glancing over his shoulder to Quizu, "So, practice with me then? I won't make this offer again."

He seemed confused for a moment, wasn't it common knowledge Zarbonians had a metamorphosis? Eh, didn't bug him too much. Not like he had learned how to tap into that form anyways, and god knows what he'd look like transformed. He was already 'hideous' by Zarbonian standard. That transformation would probably be a monster of absolute disgust when he thought about the Zarbonians he had seen transformed. No matter, there were other pressing matters at hand. Like a invitation to fight.
He would almost go wide eyed when he was offered a sparring match against this man, he was right. He had yet to prove to himself that he was ready to battle, he had been in sparring matches before. But this was a whole different ball game. It was a game of life and death from what he had seen. There had already been dozens of serious injuries, and a couple fatalities. He was beginning to falter, but this would be his test. Did he have the courage to stand forward and fight, or was he going to back down and forever be a coward? His facial expression suddenly changed, he was determined. With this, he'd give a small nod and begin walking over to the corner where they had a clear space to spar. Taking a stance, he'd crouch down into a squatting position, his fists drawn back to his hips. Curved so where the palm would be was facing the sky. He began to breath in and out slowly. His stomach nervously twisting, it wasn't his first real fight yet! But this fight already made him feel like he was in the finals of the tournament for some reason. Either way, he wouldn't quit.

Crossing the floor to corner he'd picked out for their match, Arba never doffed his cloak as he assumed a neutral stance, the heavy cloth dangling free from his shoulders and obscuring all below his neck. "Come at me when you are ready and willing, I will refrain from injuring you too greatly." A brief rustle of movement might be noticeable within the confines of his cloak, but just what the hybrid was preparing to do was yet unseen... Was he preparing some form of attack? What did he have in mind?
((Alright, to fight, you want to declare your action and then determine your point expenditure. Your Agility is 8, so you have a pool of 8 points to divvy up between your skills based on ranks. Due to your current combatant grade, you only have 1 attack action and 1 defensive action per turn, but you have a theoretically infinite number of support actions.
As an example, you can currently make a full attack and defense at 3 Martial Arts and 3 Dodge, giving you a 3 to hit, and requiring your opponent to hit at 3 or higher to attack you successfully.
You finish your post with a declaration of your post's stats:
HP: Full, Ki: full, Martial Arts 3 [4 damage], Dodge 3.
Make sense?))

[alright i'll give it a shot.]
Quizu would let out a loud war cry as he rushed forward. Holy hell for a fat guy he can LEAP. In a single bound he had made his way over to his opponent. Attempting to slam the first strike into his where he expected his abdomen to be. A straight good old fashion gut punch. His first strike coming in hot as he prepared for his next one, however. Like any good fighter, he was carefully watching for any reaction of a kick or a punch or any sort of body part to come flying at him. Seems while he was rookie to full on combat, he wasn't completely clueless and had some formal training. That's good, because Grand Kai knows he'll need every bit of it. ________________________ Stats: Health: Full Ki: Full Attack: Martial Arts 3 for [4 damage] Defense: Dodge 3

An impressive display for a man of his size, but wholly futile, even holding back Arba could effortlessly step back out of the way of the flying superman punch, shifting his body at the hips beneath his cloak to lean to one side and allow the strike to pass beneath his arm and meet naught but cloth and air. As Quizu drew back his arm to prepare for a follow-up strike something unusual pursued him out through the cloak from groin height, chasing his arm all the way back until it was poised at chest level... Was that? Yes, it was a f*cking sword! Protruding from Arba's cloak was a densely weighted blade that looked purposefully dull, though nonetheless threatening, a light probing jab snapping forward to possibly thump at Quizu's chest if he couldn't get out of the way.
HP Full, Ki Full. Martial Arts 3 (7 damage), Dodge 4. Second Attack and Defense withheld.
((Since you can dodge for 3, if you use your full dodge for 3 points, you will take half damage rounded down, taking 3 damage from the hit instead of 7. Damage is only incurred after the defender's round, therefor it is this next turn's dodge that determines the hits success/failure.))

Wait, did that guy just summon a sword? Of course he had to fight someone with a weapon. Atleast he was getting his own weapon soon, just had to wait for the order to come in. Quickly doing the smart thing that anyone else would do he'd try to jump out of the way, feeling the blade graze against him, leaving a nice bruise. He decided to ignore the pain and try to do one of the smart things. Sweep his foot against the mans head, he goes in for a complete roundhouse kick against his face, hoping to connect this blow and possibly sending him flying back. Seriously, why the hell does someone his size move like he is floating? That fat must be marshmallow.
